Executives and key leaders within corporations, unions, and non-profits can donate to political parties or candidates in their capacity as private citizens and as personal endorsers who are just doing their civic duty to help parties and politicians whom they truly support—without any attendant strings attached. Corporations, unions, & non-profits cannot donate as a single entity because if the parties and politicians they donate to win, those parties and politicians will be beholden to those corporations, unions, & non-profits. This patronage, quid pro quo political dance between corporations, unions, & non-profits AND parties & politicians must end. Powerful and large, SEC Registered Phipippine legal entities should not view politicians as their lobbyists for their own agenda, and parties & politicians should always remember that they are not lobbyists—they are, essentially, elected to serve the interests of the public, not the selfish inteterests of a few men or a group.
